Hey everyone! The team just got back from the FLL National Open tournament, which was, frankly, awesome. We have a lot of photos to show. Check them out!
Anyway, during our stay, we met teams from all around the world, experienced gazillion degree weather (and then some), and played a lot of dramatic card games amongst ourselves. The FLL competition was Friday and Saturday, May 4th and 5th, and the award ceremony was Sunday. Even though it was hot, it was still a very enjoyable, exciting experience. The actual competition was at a school called All Saints' Academy, and the award ceremony was at Legoland, Florida. They even had their own LEGO dude/mascot. Wait, actually there was two. No joke.
Speaking of awards, the Moovers got 1st Place in Teamwork! Woo hoo! We have a big, shiny trophy to show for it. Very nice and refined. Legoland was also really fun and exciting. Oh yeah, but it was Still. Freaking. Hot. The teams out there were really good, too. You don't just pull random teams from each country to participate in a national tournament.
Finally, some team members left on Monday, some on Tuesday, and some on Wednesday. It's really hard to go back to school when you've been having a blast for the past few days or so. Nevertheless, the team can't wait to go to Germany, where there will be more competitions, more excitment, and hopefully cooler weather (or so help me).
au revoir,
